Gemini Cooperation partners Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd announced Friday that they will reroute certain services from the Red Sea and Suez Canal via the Cape of Good Hope, citing “unforeseen constraints” in the volatile region. While the carriers did not specify the nature of those constraints, the decision comes amid heightened tensions as Washington considers possible military action against Iran and has expanded its naval presence in the area.
